Introduction

Though companies that make LMSes (Blackboard Inc. Instructure, etc.) do provide documentation stating their levels of support for mobile devices (iOS/Android devices), CITS -- Alcorn State's support team -- also conducts tests with mainstream mobile devices and declares its own mobile support statuses. This table below delineates whether or not iOS and Android devices are supported by CITS to be used with the Canvas system.

iOS Devices Supported on iOS versions 7 and up (versions vary by device) Conditionally supported

What Do the CITS Support Statuses Mean?

Unsupported means that:

  • devices have been tested & deemed by CITS staff as not working properly in a significant number of tests.
    ... and/or ...
  • devices have been tested & reported by members of the University community (students and/or faculty) as not working properly in a significant number of user reports.

Conditionally Supported means that:

  • devices have been tested & deemed by CITS staff as working properly in some tests.
    ... and/or ...
  • devices have been tested & reported by members of the University community (students and/or faculty) as working properly in some user reports.

Tested & Supported means that devices have been tested & reported by CITS staff as well as the University community (students and/or faculty) as working properly in the vast majority of user tests/reports.

Please note that no matter the level of support, CITS will make a best effort to help you make your device work with the Canvas system but, in the cases of Unsupported and Conditionally Unsupported devices, and Untested devices, we cannot guarantee successful service of the device.
